XV National Francisca Radke Education Prize
On May 12, in its XV version, the presentation of the National Prize for Francisca Radke Education coincided with two academic activities of great importance and in favor of education, as were the recognition made to the National Pedagogical University for its 60 years and the presentation of the new Master’s Program in Childhood Studies at UDEA and UPN in Medellín.
Ceremony that counted on words of Carlos Vásquez, Vicerrector General; Carlos Arturo Soto, dean of the Faculty of Education of the University of Antioquia; and Adolfo León Artehortúa, Rector of the National Pedagogical University, who reiterated the permanent commitment of these entities in favor of Education.
Galo Burbano López, President of the Francisca Radke Foundation, referred to the contribution of the German educator Franzisca Radke to the development of education since the creation of the National Pedagogical University for Women, which would later become the UPN, and who would inspire the Prize. Also, Dr. Burbano recalled the purpose of the Award, its scope and significant contributions, and invited the directives of universities to continue to stimulate the best educators in Colombia. Later, Lina María Manzi, Executive Director of the Foundation read the minutes, where the jury formed by the conveners and entities that support the award, agreed to deliver the Francisca Radke National Education Award in the following categories:
PREGRADO GRADE WORK IN EDUCATION to the writing denominated A PROPOSAL OF TEACHING THE FUNCTION BY TRANSFER USING THE PERIODIC AND GEOGEBRA, elaborated by: ÁNGELA KATHERINE TROCHEZ TAPIA AND ALVARO JAVIER SAA VERNAZA, of the University of the Valley. The winners will receive a scholarship for masters, in the universities conveners and support equivalent to three monthly minimum legal salaries in force semester and the publication of the work. THESIS OF DEGREE OF MASTER IN EDUCATION to work called SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS ON DIVERSITY AND TRANSFORMATION OF VIOLENT SCHOOL PRACTICES, prepared by: CLAUDIA MARÍA ECHEVERRY JARAMILLO AND MARÍA LIGIA ECHAVARRÍA HENAO, from the University of Antioquia. DOCTORATE THESIS IN EDUCATION to the work denominated: DESIGN AND EXPERIMENTATION OF A THEORETICAL MODEL – PRACTICAL VIDEO LEARNING FOR TEACHERS OF BASIC EDUCATION, SUPPORTED IN THE USE OF THE WEBTV, elaborated by: JORGE FERNANDO ZAPATA DUQUE of the University of Antioquia. EXALTATION TO A LIFE AND WORK DEDICATED TO EDUCATION to Professor ALBERTO DE JESÚS ECHEVERRY of the University of Antioquia, for his valuable contributions to Colombian education. The winner will be awarded the recognition of his life and work through a documentary that will make his work visible through the media and will receive an economic incentive equivalent to fifteen legal minimum wages in force.
Professor Echeverry represents for UDEA the sensitivity of the country’s pedagogical movement and for teachers an intellectual committed to education who serves as a guide in their daily work. VIDEO >>
